COUNCIL officials are still calculating the full potential cost of developing the former Exxon site at Bowling.

As part of the regular update on the proposed City Deal project, last week’s full West Dunbartonshire Council meeting heard bridge work would be needed costing more than £1million and unanswered questions about the state of the quay walls.

Jim McAloon, head of regeneration and economic development, said there would be a “seven-figure figure” to raise platforms.

He added that if the originally planned bridge from Renfrew to Clydebank didn’t go forward, the money could be up for other local authorities to bid for.
