GAVINBURN Primary certainly know how to bounce their way into a fun afternoon.

Reporter photographer Mark Shields caught up with pupils in the middle of their health and sports week on June 8 ahead of their sports day where youngsters tried a host of activities to keep fit.

From football and sack races to dancing and lawn bowls, there was something for everyone.

The school said: “Gavinburn health week involved lots of different events throughout the week to celebrate health and wellbeing.

“Active Schools coaches delivered various sports and activities during the week including dodgeball, hockey, basketball and multi-sports.

“Health weeks are a fantastic way to highlight the benefits of sport and the benefits of being physically active and it is also a great opportunity for the whole school to get involved along with local clubs, parents and volunteers.

“It’s great to support health weeks as it’s a chance for Active Schools to really promote the pathways from school to local clubs and the activity sessions we run.

“The feedback from the coaches involved was fantastic – they really enjoyed it and it was a great week.”
