PRIMARY seven pupils from Dumbarton and the Vale were given a real treat as Dumbarton Academy invited them to the school to enjoy its first ever summer carnival.

The event was laid on to raise money for school funds, so that te academy can continue to fund a wide range of extra-curricular activities and events.

The youngsters who attended were able to enjoy three-and-a-half hours of entertainment on the day, with a host of activities, rides and stalls for everyone to get stuck into.

Tokens, priced at £1.50 each, allowed the kids to delight in two fun fair rides, or for just £1, the pupils could try their hand at hitting a target to dunk a teacher.

One of the most popular activities at the June 12 event saw children fight their way through an inflatable assault course and battle each other in gladiator style jousting.

The fun didn’t stop there, as an array of stalls saw funky face painting, goal scoring and duck hooking from anyone who wanted to have a go.

Before being taken back to their own schools at the end of the day's fun, the P7s were also able to feast from a variety of food stations including a candy floss cart and ice cream van.
