Runners of all ages and abilities gathered together on a glorious sunny morning to celebrate the sixth anniversary of the Balloch Run ‘n’ Park this weekend.

The stunning surroundings of the national park play host to the free running event, which takes place every Saturday morning.

Organised by Maurice Donohue and Bob Burness, the pair set up the free community event back in 2012, with the aim of encouraging local people to get active.

A 5K and 2K route are on offer ever Saturday, with no registration necessary and no official recording of times – the aim of the game is simply to turn up and give it a go, taking in the iconic scenery of the park as people take part.

Marking the anniversary of the run, organiser Maurice extended a big “thank you” to all those who have attended the weekly event over the course of the last six years.

He also gave a special mention to all the team at WDC Greenspace team for their support and assistance.

Both course runs kick off at 9.30am every Saturday, starting just inside the main gates of the park on Balloch Road.

Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult.
