Talented S1-S3 pupils of Dumbarton Academy were recognised for their many achievements earlier this month in the school’s annual prize giving ceremony.

There was a full house for the evening as special guest Jackie Baillie, Dumbarton MSP, and families of the prize winners attended to celebrate the school’s younger students as another busy academic year draws to a close.

There were accolades for everything from academic performance and attendance to services to the school, charity work, behaviour and overcoming adversity.

Gifted students for each subject claimed their titles as top of the class.

Sports champions got to bask in the glory of their successes from the year.

And the acknowledgements also spanned out to kind-hearted pupils’ contributions to the wider community outside the school walls, with individuals recognised with prizes such as the Pride of Dumbarton Awards, the West Dunbartonshire Rotary Young Chef winner, and business leaders of tomorrow bagging the “Dragons’ Den” award.

As part of the evening, the school captains were given the chance to reflect on the year with speeches.

And to top off a cracking evening on June 11, pupils also shared their hard work and achievements with a number of singing performances and presentations.
