A seven-year-old boy is going to be left with scarring on both his hands after he was burnt whilst playing on a beach at Luss.
On Thursday, June 28, Callum Lawlor was allegedly skimming stones with his mum, Carly, on the shores of Loch Lomond, when he grabbed a pile of what he thought were pebbles, but turned out to be burning hot coals from a barbecue.
The youngster was rushed to hospital, where he was taken into surgery and told that his hands would be left scarred from the incident.
In a Facebook post Carly condemned the “mindless, selfish idiots” who had not disposed of their barbecue correctly and said: “He ended up in surgery. Please be aware when disposing of hot charcoals. There are designated areas for them. This could have been a toddler falling face first on top of it.”
