THE pupils of St Mary’s Primary school in Alexandria eagerly took to the stage in the school’s production of “Annie".
Over four shows, the talented and energetic cast wowed the packed audiences, transporting them to New York Municipal Orphanage in 1933 with the classic songs, “Tomorrow”, “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile” and “Hard Knock Life.”
Joanne McKenna, depute head teacher, said: "Over the past few months the children have enjoyed working on their New York accents, learning the songs, developing the characters and building confidence in their acting skills."
The show was directed by community specialist Lorrie Gallacher with the support of the staff of St Mary’s.
"The magic was created by the pupils performance, confidence and hard work it was a joy to watch," added Ms McKenna.
