A MAN has three months to prove to a sheriff he can stay out of trouble after being convicted of punching a man at a busy Dumbarton supermarket.
Ryan Grace, 27, of Caledonia Terrace, Dumbarton, appeared at the town’s sheriff court last Wednesday where he admitted attacking Colin Purdie by punching him on the face and causing him to fall to the ground. The assault happened at Morrison’s Supermarket, Glasgow Road, on March 23, 2016.
Grace also admitted resisting arrest on the same day at Dumbarton Health Centre, Station Road.
He was previously given the opportunity of a two-year community payback order with 200 hours of unpaid work.
Defence lawyer Lauren Kerr said: “He has attempted detox and realises he requires additional support.”
Sheriff Maxwell Hendry told Grace: “If you do the right things between now and September you will be allowed to continue with your community payback order.”
The sheriff set a community payback review for September 14.
