AN ALEXANDRIA man has been given a second chance by a sheriff after breaching a community service order.
Darren McCafferty, 29, of Lynn Walk, stole a quantity of alcohol from the Co-op, Mitchell Way, Alexandria, on June 29, 2017.
Defence lawyer Tom Brown told Dumbarton Sheriff Court last Wednesday: “He was told by the social work department to get a medical certificate. He is fit to do work.”
Sheriff Maxwell Hendry said: “Your situation is in a fine balance. If I am told when you return to court in September that you have not been turning up for work it will put your liberty at risk.”
A community payback review was set for September 14 and a supplementary social work report called for. McCafferty was ordered to be of good behaviour and ordained to appear.
