A HABITUAL drug abuser has been told by a sheriff that he hopes to see him back in court in three months’ time – if he’s still alive.

Simon Chisholm, 41, of Risk Street, Dumbarton, committed a series of offences on March 19, 2016.

Dumbarton Sheriff Court heard last Wednesday how he was shouting and swearing and uttering abusive remarks during a journey between Ashton View, Dumbarton and London Road police office, Glasgow.

A sheriff was told how he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear and alarm.

On the same day, in a common close at Ashton View, Chisholm exposed himself in front of a female police officer, made sexual comments to her and committed a breach of the peace. Later, in the rear yard of Clydebank Police Office, he spat at the same officer.

Chisholm, the court was told, was being offered help by an outside drug agency.

Defence lawyer Tom Brown said: “If he does not take the help he will die.”

Sheriff Maxwell Hendry told Chisholm: "There are very little options left open to me but to send you to prison. I hope you take the help you need and I will see you in September, if you’re still alive.”

Sentence was deferred until September 14. He was ordained to appear.
