An NHS 24 HR manager from Dumbarton has been presented with an Outstanding Leadership Award.

Louise Gordon, who has worked for NHS 24 since 2006, and with their HR department since 2008, was commended at NHS 24’s Spotlight Awards Ceremony at Hampden Park earlier this month at Glasgow’s Hampden Park.

In her nomination for the accolade, she was was described as 'hardworking, honest, fair, knowledgeable and personable', by her fellow colleagues.

Louise said she was delighted to have received the award.

She commented: “It feels great to be recognised for all the hard work. Although I have won the award as an individual, I wouldn't have been able to do it without my team working alongside me.

“I didn’t know I had been nominated. It was something nice for the hard work you do. The awards evening was lovely.

“My team make my job easier – everyone is very supportive and involved. What I enjoy about my role is that it is challenging and varied.”

Louise explained that whether it’s working behind the scenes or on the front line for NHS 24, everyone pulls together as a big team to provide

“I think we’re just one big team. The frontline staff do a fantastic job, and hopefully we provide that support for them,” she said.

“The goal now is just to continue with the good work with my team.”

NHS 24’s Chief Executive, Angiolina Foster, presented Louise with her award.

She said:" It was fantastic to see so many colleagues who had travelled from across the country to take part in what was a great night of celebration.

"The fact that we had more than 200 nominations from staff for their peers shows just how much people recognise and value one another. It was very heartening to see how all of those who attended the event were so positive. I am inspired and motivated by all of our staff within NHS 24 who work together to provide safe, effective and person-centred care to the people of Scotland."
