A WESTCLIFF woman who threw a cup of water over another woman during a hearing at the Children’s Reporter’s office in Dumbarton has been fined £200.
Deborah Gray, 33, committed the offence at the Scottish Children’s Reporters Office, Church Road, Dumbarton, on May 16.
Dumbarton Sheriff Court heard last Tuesday how she assaulted a woman by throwing a cup of water over her head and body.
Prosecutor Sarah Healing told the court: “At 11.30am a Children’s Hearing commenced. During the hearing Gray became upset and threw a cup of water in the face of a woman.
“The hearing was brought to an end and police were contacted. She was arrested and taken to Clydebank police office where she was cautioned and charged.”
Defence lawyer Scott Adair said: “It was a somewhat tense situation which had developed. She admits she acted in an entirely inappropriate way.
“She is on benefits and a financial penalty could be imposed.”
Sheriff Peter Grant-Huchison described the offence as “very exceptional circumstances”.
