A 30-YEAR-OLD man who stole a quantity of alcohol – worth less than £3 – on his birthday has been given three months to stay out of trouble.
Ryan Rainey, of Ashton View, Dumbarton, stole the drink, worth £2.79, from Loco, 695 Dumbarton Road, Clydebank, on May 1.
Prosecutor Sarah Healing told Dumbarton Sheriff Court last Tuesday that he was spotted on CCTV and a full recovery was made.
Defence lawyer Scott Adair said: “It was an act of stupidity. It was on the day of his birthday. He was under the influence of drink.”
Sheriff Peter Grant-Hutchison deferred sentence on Rainey until October 24, ordering him to be of good behaviour.
