A THUG who smashed the windows of his mother’s home and then kicked her elderly dog has been jailed for six months.
Dumbarton Sheriff Court was told on Friday that Colum Gallagher, 37, kicked off at the Lomond Drive property on September 5, when he broke windows and booted his mother’s 14-year-old pet.
Defence lawyer Scott Adair said: “He missed a couple of prescription dates and ended up back on drugs. He has been on remand in custody since September 6.
“When released he will go to stay with his sister in Brucehill.”
Sheriff Maxwell Hendry said: “You are approaching the bottom of your seventh page of previous convictions.
“You have sunk to a new low by kicking an aged dog and putting your mother into a state of terror. Prison must follow.”
