YOUNGSTERS enjoyed all the fun of the fair at the weekend’s Levengrove Park community gala day.

West Dunbartonshire Council’s greenspace section organised activities including children’s rides and pony rides, information and activity stalls, sports, arts and crafts, nature craft, crazy golf, kids lawn games, Freddy Wizz the entertainer, music, dance displays, Tai Chi, dog training demonstrations and, of course, food.

Groups attending included Y Sort It, the council’s mobile library and litter control.

The Heritage Lottery Fund’s Parks for People programme granted the council £2.8million to restore the heritage of the Dumbarton park, with the local authority committing more than £800,000 towards the project.

The work includes restoration of heritage features, repairs to walls, replacement of the pavilion, new play facilities, new benches and lighting and more.

A spokeswoman for West Dunbartonshire Council said: “The Levengrove Park Community Gala Day is an annual event which marks the investment from the council and the Heritage Lottery Funded. The event was to showcase the extensive upgraded works already carried out and encourage visitors to enjoy the park and gala activities.
