The popular Balloch “Walk in the Park”, which regularly attracts 35 to 45 people, will be leaving from a different meeting point this Wednesday.

The weekly health walk usually begins outside the Balloch Tourist Information Centre and lasts around 45 minutes. This week, however, walkers should gather outside Jenners at Loch Lomond Shores at 10.20am.

The group will then head towards Cameron House and down towards the shore before doing a loop around the grounds of the hotel and back towards Loch Lomond Shores. The walk will be followed by a social cup of tea at Corries.

Fran Crumley, Lomond coordinator for Walk in the Park, said: “Every other walk throughout the year will meet at Balloch Tourist Information Centre. They are free, fun, welcoming, easy and open to everyone.

“The volunteer walk leaders cater for different abilities, so no matter how fast or slow people walk we can accommodate that as volunteers walk alongside different groups. If people are returning to physical activity after a period of inactivity, walking is the best way to go about it.”

The walk is organised by Loch Lomond and the Trossachs Countryside Trust, who run similar walks in Aberfoyle (Mondays), Callander (Tuesdays), Killin (Wednesdays), and Drymen (Thursdays). All walks meet at 10.20am.
