A DUMBARTON man who breached a community payback order (CPO) has been jailed for four months.
Last Thursday Dumbarton Sheriff Court heard how Paul Reid had been given “several opportunities” to carry out the order.
Defence lawyer Kenny McGowan said: “He takes a realistic view of the circumstances. He has been in custody since September 25, when he was breached. He was a law abiding man until the breakdown of his marriage.”
Reid, 39, of Argyll Avenue, Dumbarton, was caught in public carrying a lock-back knife. The offence happened on August 11, 2016, in Cardross Road, Dumbarton.
He also breached a court bail order from Dumbarton Sheriff Court when he failed to turn up for a hearing on November 2, 2016.
Sheriff William Gallacher told Reid: “You have been given repeated opportunities to stay out of custody.”
The CPO was revoked and Reid was jailed for four months for carrying the knife and two months for breaching bail, the sentences to run concurrently, but backdated to September 25.
