PUPILS and staff at Gavinburn Primary sang skipped and laughed across Erskine Bridge to raise money for their school funds.

Primary one to seven pupils completed their sponsored walks in groups across the bridge on Monday, October 8.

And more than £3,600 was raised.

Marie Wilson, headteacher at Gavinburn Primary School, said: “We are totally blown away by the generosity of our school community.

“The walk was a huge success, with all pupils, staff and families who took part thoroughly enjoying the experience.

“Pupils walking through wind and rain did not complain - they sang, skipped, laughed and even cheered when traffic responded with a toot.”

Plans on what the money will be spent on have already been made.

Ms Wilson added: “We hope to install a Trim Trail, a fitness path with outdoor exercise equipment, within our school grounds that can be accessed by all within Gavinburn Primary and the village of Old Kilpatrick.”
