Are you keen to be a little more active, improve your overall well-being and make some new friends along the way?

A free community event, which takes place in the fine, natural surroundings of Balloch Park every Saturday, could be just the solution.

Run’n’Park – 2k or 5k – starts at 9.30am on November 17, just inside the main gates of the Park, which is on Balloch Road and opposite the bus terminus next to the Co-operative supermarket.

The event is hosted by West Dunbartonshire Athletics Club and has been running since June 2012.

For those keen to come along, taking part is simple. There is no registration, no fee and no official recording of times. All you need to do is turn up, ready to walk, jog or run.

The course will be marked out with directional signs and limited stewards, but organisers say it must be stressed that participants will run at their own risk.

The route will take in some iconic views of Loch Lomond, as well as the Walled Garden and Balloch Castle.

In the event of adverse weather and to check the run is going ahead, participants are asked to call 07534 365271 for confirmation, but not to leave a message.

Children under the age of 11 must be accompanied by an adult. For more information contact Maurice Donohue via runnpark.leaguerepublic.com.
