The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice for Dumbarton and the Vale.
The warning will be in place in the Strathclyde region from midnight tonight (December 3) until 10am tomorrow (December 4).
Due to the plummeting temperatures, there is a danger of injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces and there will probably be some ice on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
The Met Office said: "Showers will turn more frequent across western Scotland from midnight.
"With light winds this will allow icy patches to form in some places leading to some hazardous road conditions overnight and on Tuesday morning, including during the morning rush hour.
"Over hills and mountains showers are expected to be wintry."
