All West Dunbartonshire secondary pupils will be trained in CPR before they leave school, thanks to ambitious new council plans.

The Authority intends to roll out the programme across all their secondary schools in a bid to meet Scottish Government aims to increase the rate of bystander CPR.

Politicians want an additional 500,000 people with CPR skills by 2020 to create a nation of lifesavers.

The British Heart Foundation previously contacted the council to ask them to commit to training all their pupils in CPR using their Call Push Rescue programme, which they say will greatly benefit the community.
