Thieves stole a 22-inch TV and several bank cards when they broke into a house in Alexandria over the weekend.

The police are appealing for information about the theft which happened on Middleton Street between 12pm on Saturday, December 15 and 1pm on Monday, December 17.

Detective Constable Nicky Beattie, from Clydebank CID, said: “Officers are carrying out a number of enquiries in relation to this incident to try and trace the person or persons responsible.

“We are appealing anyone who has any information to come forward.

He added: “Did you notice anyone acting suspiciously in the area over the weekend?

“Have you been offered a television? We urge you to come forward.

“Officers are also working with the victim and people in the local community with regards to crime prevention and support.”
