Brave water ski enthusiasts will be taking the plunge into icy cold water on New Year’s Day to raise money for a good cause by doing a sponsored ski on Loch Lomond.

Members and friends of Loch Lomond Water Ski Club will, once again, be braving the elements in fancy dress to ski on the water at Cameron House Marina near the Boat House restaurant.

This is the 35th year of the charity event and this time they are raising cash for the Loch Lomond Rescue Boat which is always there for them at these events as a safety boat for the skiers.

David Henderson, chairman of Loch Lomond Water Ski Club, said: “We chose to raise money for Loch Lomond Rescue Boat because they have been such a huge support to us over the years.

“They need funds to keep going, for fuel and maintenance costs, which are quite extensive.

“Loch Lomond Rescue boat collects each skier after they’ve done their run so we really couldn’t do this without their help.”

The event is also supported by Cameron House Hotel, Mayles Watersports and Inchmurrin Island Lodges. It starts at 1pm on Tuesday January 1. All are welcome.
