Hordes of runners braved the cold to start 2019 off on the right foot by taking part in Balloch's New Year Shortbread Two Mile Walk, Run or Jog.
With the weather conditions just about right, despite being a little chilly, no less that 275 participants turned out for the event on January 2, which was organised by West Dunbartonshire Athletics Club.
Celebrating its 8th year, runners followed the pathways around Balloch Castle Country Park as part of a route which started and finished at the park's main gates and took in Balloch Castle and the Walled Garden.
Maurice Donohue from WDAC said: "Big thank you to volunteers Moira, Bob, Eve, Lindsay, Yvonne,Theresa and Stephen, who marshalled, and supported the participants, as well as handing out the well-earned packet of Shortbread, sponsored by Walkers.
"Here's to 2019 and, hopefully, this event will encourage people to be a little more active as part of their New Year's resolutions."
The Run'n'Park is on in Balloch Park every Saturday starting at 9.30am.
