A MAN has appeared in court charged with a shooting attempted murder in Balloch just before Christmas.
Stuart McGinley is alleged to have had a firearm in a public place and to have committed an assault to severe injury, danger of life and attempted murder.
The 31-year-old, who is from Clydebank, made no plea or declaration at Dumbarton Sheriff Court when he appeared on January 3.
The case was continued for further examination and Mr McGinley was released on bail.
Emergency services were called to Lynn Walk in the Dalvait estate after the incident around 7pm on December 20.
Darren McCafferty, 30, was taken to hospital with reported serious injuries and his condition was late described as stable. He was later released after treatment.
Police increase patrols in the area after the incident as part of the investigation and to reassure the public.
