Residents still have time to pop along to public consultation events to find out more about the plans to upgrade Dumbarton's Central Station.

As previously reported in the Reporter, major improvements are set to be carried out at the dilapidated train station in a bid to attract more passengers and boost the town's image.

A team of leading conservation architects, Lesley Kerr and her team of five specialist consultants, has been commissioned to draw up plans for the historic building.

Central, one of only 12 'A' Listed stations in Scotland, has badly deteriorated over the years, giving a bad impression to locals and visitors.

The project is supported by Network Rail and ScotRail/Abellio, and is being funded by West Dunbartonshire Council.

Meetings are being held all next week to allow members of the public to see and discuss some of the key issues and opportunities for improvement.

Anyone popping along will be able to complete a questionnaire, allowing them to put their views across.

Held at Dumbarton Library, Strathleven Place, they run until Monday, January 28.

The exhibition opening times are:

Monday 9.30am - 5pm

Tuesday 1pm - 8pm

Wednesday 9.30am - 8pm

Thursday 9.30am - 5pm

Friday 9.30am - 5pm

Saturday 10am -1pm

If you are unable to visit the exhibition, but would like to contribute, please visit surveymonkey.co.uk/r/DCSfeedback, which will allow you to fill out an online questionnaire.
