Primary three pupils from Braehead Primary had fun outside this week as a snowy blast hit Dumbarton.

The wintry conditions coincided with the class's first weekly outdoor learning session delivered by Rachel McKecknie and Jay Smith from youth project Y Sort It.

Class teacher Lucy McDougall told the Reporter: "It was in partnership with local organisation, Y Sort It, who are coming in for ten weeks to work with the kids on outdoor learning and outdoor play.

"The kids were working in teams and it was about having fun. It just so happened that our first week was out in the snow.

"They were playing hockey end and using sticks to write words and draw pictures, as well as playing football and tennis. It is important for the children to get out and explore learning outdoors and to not just be in the class learning, but exploring the environment they are living in. They had lots of fun in the snow."
