Lodestone Creative are holding the first of its new and free ‘come and try’ events this week for those looking for an outlet for their artistic side.

On April 3 at Alexandria Community Centre, the first Come and Try Wednesday will feature a workshop run by an experienced textile designer who will share her silk drawing techniques over a two-hour period from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

At the workshop you will learn how to remove dye from silk and draw and colour your own image onto fabric using key drawing materials.

The following day, the project will be holding its first Come and Try Thursday at their Dumbarton studio at 14 Meadowbank Street.

This workshop will be run by an experienced art teacher who will share her drawing techniques over a two-hour hour period from 6pm to 8pm.

Participants will use various drawing materials such as charcoal and chalk to carry out fun exercises as well as discover different drawing techniques such as continuous line drawing.

Both workshops are for over 16s only and are suitable for absolute beginners right up to those who are familiar with various drawing techniques and who just want to be part of the session.

Alexandria Community Centre has disabled access, however, the Dumbarton venue unfortunately does not.
