The Phoenix community centre in Castlehill was alive with Easter fun over the spring holidays.

Wee ones had an amazing time at the teddy bears picnic and also enjoyed storytelling, games and a multi-sensory bear hunt.

Primary school kids, meanwhile, chilled out with some board game sessions, got their sweat on with some Easter-themed epic sports and showed off their creative side by making Easter bonnets, egg decorating, and making chocolate egg nests.

For the older ones a trip to the trampoline park Gravity left everyone with a smile on their faces.

The holiday activities were then capped off with a community cinema night in the centre.

Oli Higham, pastor of Rock Community Church who run The Phoenix, told the Reporter: "During half-term a few parents spoke to us about there not being much on for preschool kids during holidays, so we sat down with a few of them and bounced some ideas about. The teddy bears picnic came out of those discussions.

"Seeing all the wee ones dancing about and taking part in all the activities was great.

"Mel Hanvey, our under 3s project coordinator, and her team of volunteers did an amazing job."
