Comic book, science fiction and fantasy characters are set to step out of the page and into real life this weekend as Loch Lomond Comic Cons returns to the bonnie banks.

Organisers promise 2019 will be even bigger and better than last year's event, which attracted around 15,000 people, including traders, special guests and a whole host of cosplay characters such as Batman, Stormtroopers and Spiderman.

Comic Con at Loch Lomond Shores will give traders and fans the chance to buy and sell comics and graphic novels, action figures and toys, as well as comic-inspired fan art and home decorations.

There will be something for all the family, with things for kids, including facepainting, balloons, cosplay competitions and even a Delorean car as seen in Hollywood blockbuster Back to the Future.

Ian Bonar, organiser of Loch Lomond Comic Con, said “Last year’s event was great as we moved into a much bigger space at Loch Lomond Shores but we feel it lacked the atmosphere of the first year at the water so we've reverted back to our original location at Sea life Centre and made it a free event again so everyone can enjoy it.

"We've been extremely lucky weather wise previously so I'm hopeful it continues for the third event”
