MEMBERS of the Helensburgh Kayak Club recently completed the 100-mile Argyll Sea Kayak Trail, taking six days to complete the full route from Helensburgh to Oban.

Seven members set out on the trail, which runs via Dunoon, the Kyles of Bute, Tarbert, the Crinan Canal, Dorus Mor and the ‘Bridge Over the Atlantic’, on Saturday, May 4, and, after a day’s delay because of high winds, all seven arrived at the finishing point at Ganavan Sands near Oban on Friday, May 10.

The trail was officially opened in 2014 and, in addition to the launch points in Helensburgh and Oban, also features stop-off points at Dunoon, Toward, the north end of Bute, Tarbert and Ardrishaig on Loch Fyne, Crinan, and Arduaine.
