COMIC book, science fiction and fantasy characters leapt out of the page and into real life at the weekend as Loch Lomond Comic Con returned to the bonnie banks.

Thousands of people, including traders, special guests and a whole host of cosplay characters, including Batman, Spiderman and just about everyone from the cast of the Star Wars series made the event a weekend to remember on both Saturday and Sunday.

Comic Con at Loch Lomond Shores provided a host of entertainment, including facepainting, competitions, and meet-and-greet sessions.

There was even a Delorean car from Hollywood blockbuster, Back to the Future, for fans to get to grips with.

Other characters spotted by our photographer included Brave’s Merida, Chewbacca, and Wonder Woman.

Ian Bonar, organiser of Loch Lomond Comic Con, said: “Last year’s event was great, as we moved into a much bigger space at Loch Lomond Shores but we feel it lacked the atmosphere of the first year at the water, so we reverted back to our original location at Sea Life Centre and made it a free event again so everyone could enjoy it.”

The organisers said in a Facebook post after the event: “We’re done for another year and hope you all had as much fun as we did. Expect a 2020 date to be announced soon!”
