A car was torched on a quiet residential street in Alexandria during the early hours of the morning.
Firefighters responded to the scene in Miller Road after the alarm was raised shortly before 3am on Thursday.
The blaze was extinguished.
Police confirmed they are treating the incident as deliberate.
Officers are now appealing for anyone in the area with private CCTV or any information to come forward.
Detective Constable Jemma Green said: "Our enquiries into the fire are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone with information which could assist us to contact us.
"We also ask anyone with private CCTV of the area at the time to come forward."
Anyone with any information is urged to contact cops via 101, quoting incident number 0247 of Thursday, February 1.
