A MAN who threatened staff at addiction centre staff and threatened police with a knife has been put on a drug treatment order.

Christopher Carmouche, of Colquhoun Drive, Rosshead, Alexandria, shouted, swore, uttered threats of violence to a member of staff at the Addiction Centre at the Joint Hospital in Cardross Road, Dumbarton, on June 28 last year.

He repeatedly spat on windows and behaved aggressively.

Then at a property in Tontine Park, Renton, he shouted, swore, and repeatedly brandished a knife at offices.

Last week Dumbarton Sheriff Court heard he was suitable for a drug treatment and testing order (DTTO) after some improvement over recent months.

Sheriff Maxwell Hendry told him: "It's not an easy option. If you continue to take illegal drugs, you may lose the order. If you turn up to appointments under the influence, you may lose the order. If you lose the order, prison is inevitable.

"The length of rope has to be seized and grabbed hold of."

Carmouche's progress will be reviewed in a private court hearing on June 2.
