Kind-hearted animal lovers across Dunbartonshire are being asked to help at a Spring Fundraising Drive event between the charity and retailer Pets At Home to raise money for abused and injured pets.

The animal welfare charity, which has a rehoming centre in Milton, is looking for anyone who can any time to help out and members of the SPCA team will be at the Dumbarton Pets at Home branch through the rest of the month to chat to customers and urge them to get involved.

Joe McDade, Dumbarton animal rescue and rehoming manager said: “From the 17 May to 13 June, locals can pop down to the Dumbarton and Lanark Pets at Home stores where they will get the chance to meet Scottish SPCA volunteers, supporters, staff members and dogs from the Scottish SPCA’s animal rescue and rehoming centres.

“We are encouraging the public to get into the fundraising spirit by dressing up in fancy dress, taking your four legged friend along or bringing some baked goodies to encourage donations.

He continued: “The Scottish SPCA receives no government or lottery funding and we rely on the kindness and generosity of the public to continue our work. We would be extremely grateful if anyone would like to donate their time and help us raise vital funds.”
