THREE people have been taken to hospital following a serious road traffic accident involving a bus and a Land Rover on the A811 Stirling Road.

The incident is said to have happened on a stretch of road between Finnery Road and Ballagan Farm.

It's understood that the incident happened at around 12.25pm today and emergency services, including an air ambulance attended.

Emergency services rescued a man, who was trapped within the Land Rover, while two passengers on the bus were taken away with suspected spinal injuries.

Their conditions are not yet known.

Motorists are being asked to note that there are road closures and diversions in place and to expect delays to their journeys in that area.

A Police Scotland spokesperson added: "Police were called to reports of a road traffic accident involving a bus and a Land Rover at approximately 12.30pm, near to Ballagan Farm.

"The road was closed at the Balloch end and local diversions were put in place.

"Three people were understood to have been taken to hospital, two people from the bus and one from the Land Rover."

A spokesman for Scottish Fire and Rescue said: "Firefighters attended a road traffic collision on Stirling Road in Balloch.

"Three fire appliances were mobilised after the alarm was raised at 12:26pm on Friday, June 16."
