CHILDREN had an absolute ball on Friday when a week-long football camp drew to a successful close.

Scores of kids were put through their paces by trusted coaches and assistants at West Dunbartonshire Leisure.

The football camps took place all last week at Dumbarton Academy, where children were given tips and advice on how to improve their game.

There was the option of full day, or half day camps and a great time was had by everyone.

The idea behind the camps is to help promote a healthy lifestyle and get young children active more often.

But the main emphasis was on having fun and making new friends into the bargain.

The fun football camps have not come to an end, though.

Additional camps are being held at Vale of Leven Academy, running from Monday, July 17 to Friday, July 21, when once again children can get the chance top show off their silky soccer skills.

Before the end of the summer holidays, the fun camps will return to Dumbarton Academy, running from Monday, August 7 to Friday, August 11.

There's a wide variety of activities available such as the fun football camps for those aged five to eight, or a Skills Development camp for those aged nine to 14- and much more.

There's also Mini-Kickers camps available for those aged three and four, running at Vale of Leven Academy, Clydebank High School and Dumbarton Academy.
