The team at Loch Lomond Shores are celebrating achieving a landmark accolade for its work as a tourist attraction.

The Balloch retail and outdoor complex which recently celebrated its fifteenth anniversary, received notification from Visit Scotland that it had been awarded five-star visitor attraction status.

The award comes as the Shores goes through a change in management, with long-time general manager Clare Gemmell handing over the reins to new centre manager Audrey Reid.

Ms Gemmell, who has been in the position for eleven years, said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed the past eleven years at Loch Lomond Shores working with a wide range of partners and the local community to create exciting new initiatives and I’m sure Audrey’s enthusiasm and wide ranging experience will see more great new developments for Loch Lomond Shores over the coming years."

Meanwhile, Ms Reid, who is described as having a 'breadth of experience' in facilities management, said: "I am thrilled to be taking over from Clare at such a prestigious and iconic attraction. The complex has a tremendous reputation and I’m looking forward to the opportunities ahead.’’
