DUNBARTONSHIRE Chamber of Commerce chief executive, Damon Scott, showed that he had a head for heights- when he abseiled 150ft off the Titan Crane in Clydebank.

The business chief took part in a charity abseil organised by the Royal Marine’s charity to mark the Highland Reserve Forces and Cadets Association new partnership with the chamber.

Damon, who only plucked up the nerve to take part two days before the event, raised more than £200 for charities.

Speaking about the challenge afterwards he said: “I am not particularly afraid of heights but it does take a bit of nerve to dangle from a rope 150ft in the air!

“I was delighted to raise some funds for the Marines Charity as well as for the Red Cross Hurricane Irma Appeal.

“The chamber also promoted the event to our members and I know quite a few of the local businesses subsequently took part too.

“We have a strong links with the armed forces and Highland Reserve Forces and Cadets Association recently came on board as part of our new Partner+ programme so it was good to use this event to cement that relationship too.”
