A MAN who locked his partner in an Alexandria property and struck her on the head must wait to hear his fate.

Christopher Ferrie admitted assaulting his partner and locking her within a flat on Colquhoun Drive on December 30.

He also pleaded guilty to acting in a threatening manner, shouting, uttering threats and offensive remarks towards her when he appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on January 3.

Defence agent Gail Casey pleaded with Sheriff Maxwell Hendry to allow the 24-year-old to be released on bail as he was planning to move in with his mother in Avenel Road in Glasgow’s Knightswood area.

However, depute fiscal Emma Thomson asked that Ferrie, formerly of Colquhoun Drive, have special conditions attached to his bail, namely that he does not enter the street where the assault took place and not to contact his partner.

Sheriff Hendry deferred sentencing for reports, telling Ferrie court needed to know “as much about him” as possible.

The Crown’s contact ban request was refused but Ferrie is banned from entering the Alexandria street.
