Dancers from across West Dunbartonshire were showing off their moves as part of an annual dance festival involving local primary and secondary schools.

In total, 300 pupils took part in the event - ranging from P1 to S6 - with 25 performances on the evening from schools based right across the area.

The event was organised by West Dunbartonshire Leisure's Active Schools team, and was hosted in the new Clydebank Leisure Centre.

David Molloy, Active Schools coordinator, said: "The performances are getting better and better every year, it is an excellent show case for all the partnership working between schools, Active Schools and local dance instructors.

"It was a participation event that was the climax of weeks of work as an after school or lunch time clubs within the schools arranged and supported by the Active School coordinators.

"This is the seventh year of the event, which started back in the assembly hall of St Peter the Apostle with just a handful of schools in 2011."

The festival was part of a range of local events organised by Active Schools towards the aim of getting children 'more active, more often' in their West Dunbartonshire School Games, which have also included sports such as athletics, basketball, football, tennis and rugby.
