INCIDENTS of dangerous driving within West Dunbartonshire have reduced by a whopping 77.8 per cent, a report says.
And in an added boost to local safety, the total number of offences detected within West Dunbartonshire relating to motor vehicles is also down by 25 per cent.
A report to go before members of the Community Planning West Dunbartonshire Management Board on Thursday, also says that speeding is down 14.5 per cent, driving while disqualified is down 14.3 per cent, and driving while using a mobile phone is also down- 66.7 per cent.
The figures are based on the first quarter of the financial year 2017/18 (April to June) and compared to figures from the same period last year.
A report states: "Reductions in offences relating to speeding, seat belts and using a motor vehicle without and valid MOT certificate accounts for much of the overall decrease.
"It is also notable that careless and dangerous driving offences have reduced with eight fewer detections recorded YTD (year to date)."
