PUPILS and staff at Dumbarton's St Michael's Primary went above and beyond the call of duty to help out the Milton Cat and Dog home.
As part of Primary 7A's learning, they explored their duties to protect nature and
promote life.
As a result they answered an appeal from the Scottish SPCA, specifically Milton Cat and Dog home - Dumbarton, to donate food to help them care for the animals- as food is always in high demand.
A school spokesperson said: "In response to this appeal Primary 7A created posters and information booklets to share with pupils throughout the school to help raise awareness.
"They composed a newsletter for parents and families to broaden their appeal for food and regularly liaised with staff from the SSPCA via email.
"Finally, they held a cake and candy to raise funds for the SSPCA and were successful in raising an impressive £300."
The pupils recently presented their cheque, along with a number of donated bags of food and toys, to staff at the cat and dog home.
