A SPECIALIST NHS team based in West Dunbartonshire scooped a prize during the annual chairman awards.

Staff from across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde gathered to celebrate the achievements of colleagues at the ceremony in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Glasgow.

And in the Clinical Practice category the winners were the West Dunbartonshire Blood Borne Virus nurses.

This award recognises the importance of staff innovation which helps and improves everyday practices in the workplace and/or approaches to patient care.

The team was established in an effort to improve the numbers of patients accessing anti-viral therapy outwith a hospital setting.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Chairman, John Brown said: "This is the eighth year of the Chairman’s Awards and once again this year we have had so many fantastic entries across the range of categories.

"It is extremely encouraging, not just for myself and the rest of the Board, the senior management team of NHSGGC and the Scottish NHS as it showcases the true quality of our workforce and their commitment to delivering the very best in patient care."
