Councillor Sally Page, writes:

A very happy and peaceful 2018 to all.

New Year is a time to reflect on the past and think about what 2018 may bring.

For those we love and all those in our community we wish that everyone will have a joyful and fortunate year ahead.

A big thank you to all the charities that operate across West Dunbartonshire, providing care and support where we live. Offering to help a charitable organisation brings dual benefits; great satisfaction for those who volunteer, gratefulness to those whose need is being attended to.

Having been a councillor for only a short time it is apparent just how many events in a year draw people together and put politics aside.

Dunkirk Veterans Association held a commemorative service in Jamestown, this is closely linked to the refurbishment of Skylark IX.

Police Scotland Youth Volunteers awards night included young people from Dumbarton and Clydebank, attended by proud parents and grandparents.

Remembrance Sunday services and parades all over West Dunbartonshire drew all ages together to show respect for those who have laid down their lives for us to live in peace.

The enthusiasm shown through the successful fund raising for The Maid of the Loch.

What will 2018 bring?
