Dog lovers looking for a new exercise challenge may not have to look any further than Cani-Fit classes - outdoor running sessions that let you and your pooch beat tough outdoor routes running as a team.

The human and dog fitness company have their next block of Balloch Park classes coming up in July.

Designed for runners of all levels, participants are taught to run in unison with their four-legged friends as they pull ahead on the lead.

Joanne Cochrane, who is the Cani-Fit class leader for the Balloch classes, said: “I think it’s definitely for people who love their dogs - if you’re a dog owner and work all day, you don’t want to go to the gym and leave them behind.

“It’s something that bonds.

“We teach you how to run with your dog, running as a team with your dog running out in front. They are pulling you along.

“The dogs really seem to get what it’s all about.”

The events are also great for socialising, for owners and pets alike, said Joanne - and people with nervous dogs have also seen their animals come into their own through the sessions.

Classes alternate between Moss O’Balloch and Balloch Castle. Sessions can be booked individually, at £6, or the four-week block for £40. Visit cani-fit.com for more information and to book.
