DETECTIVES are continuing enquiries and appealing for witnesses after a wilful fireraising act in Bonhill, Alexandria, earlier today.

Around 4.45am this morning, police were called to a report of an Audi A4 car on fire on the roadway of Pappet, Bonhill, which also spread to a Vauxhall Astra parked next to it.

The fires were extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, however, both vehicles were extensively damaged.

Detective Constable Jonathan Campbell of Clydebank Police Office said: "Our investigation is ongoing into this fire, and officers have been carrying out enquiries in the local area to establish more detail on the circumstances and who is responsible.

"Anyone with information that may assist the investigation should contact Clydebank Police Office through 101.
