BONHILL Primary School said 'bonjour!' to a host of French treats last week on their French cultural day.

Pupils from across the school have been learning all about life in France over the past few weeks and decided to show off their knowledge with a day of fancy French festivities.

On the day there was a special persons lunch with parents and guardians invited along to taste some French cuisine, a parade and a shoe box float competition with homages to Star Wars, The Simpsons and My Little Pony.

Teacher Clair-Louise Spence, who doubles as a 1+2 co-ordinator, said: "It was a really successful day, the children deepened their understanding of French culture and had lots of fun designing masks and taking part in the parade.

"The parents and grandparents and aunts and uncles that came along all really enjoyed the meal as well."

The parade was led by the school's 1+2 ambassadors, one of whom told the Reporter:
