A MAN appearing in court last week on nine different cases has seen the first three disposed of.

Derek Fisher, 39, went before Sheriff Maxwell Hendry at Dumbarton Sheriff Court with cases of drug possession and theft from a number of stores across 18 months.

Fisher, who had addresses in court papers Westcliffe, Ashton View and Howatshaws Road, Dumbarton, and at the Safe as Houses project in Drumry, Clydebank, has been of good behaviour since his last court hearing, said defence agent Roddy Boag.

Sheriff Hendry told Fisher: "In 2015 and 2016 you appeared on no fewer than nine offences. I want to see the way you're living now is the way you're going to stay."

The 39-year-old was admonished for possession of heroin in May and June 2015. On March 12, 2016 he stole toiletries and meat from Morrisons in Dumbarton, while on bail. He was fined £150 for this.

But Fisher still has six more cases outstanding. In March 2016, days after the earlier theft, he took toiletries and cosmetics from Boots.

In June 2016 at Morrisons in Dumbarton he stole a quantity of meat, then days later he stole a quantity of oil from the same store, twice breaking orders not to enter Morrisons.

He also stole makeup from Boots in Dumbarton that month.

He was back in trouble in December, stealing meat products from both the BP Filling Station in Dumbarton Road and Morrisons the next day.

Sentence on the other matters was deferred for six months to be of good behaviour and Sheriff Hendry will review his progress regularly.
