A BONHILL man faces jail after severely injury a man in a frenzied knife attack.
Richard Ely, 41, of O’Hare, pleaded guilty at Dumbarton Sheriff Court to the knife attack, which happened on May 1, 2017, at his home.
Prosecutor Claire Nicholls told how he pushed his victim on the body, causing him to fall to the ground.
The court then heard how he repeatedly punched and kicked him on the head and body and repeatedly struck him on the body with a knife and stamped on his head. He suffered severe injuries.
Defence lawyer Kenny McGowan said: “The gravity of the offence is not lost on him. He is taking action to reduce his severe alcohol problem. He is a carer for his mother.”
Deferring sentenced until April 23, Sheriff Maxwell Hendry said: “It is a serious charge, but with some hesitation I will allow your bail to continue.”
